Subtitle - King Ghost 7''

This is 'the' infamous 24-copy only raer Subtitle clear 7''.
Got mine from Deeskee a few years ago. What you got is a not-so-good rip from my vinyl.
For the rest, let's quote discogs:

Originally it was planned as a single for Subtitle’s first album on GSL, but only 24 copies were made.

Subtitle’s PC crashed and he lost the whole material of the album. That’s why the production of the single was stopped and instead he recorded new tracks, which are the today version of “Always Recovering from Tomorrow”.

This record has a blank yellow label with no information at all about the artist, release year and track titles. The only mark is scratched in the runout groove ('GSLXXX-A' for the a-side and 'GSLXXX-B' for the b-side, respectively).

Camp Crystal Lake - The Camp Crypt B-Sidez

Not much is known about that compilation, besides the fact that it's legit (artwork posted on Zest's youtube channel) and, as the subtitle suggest, it's a collection of 4-track and unreleased fillers.
Camp Crystal Lake aka Camp Crypt is the collective created by San Jose's Zest The Smoker in 1996.
The crew got several line-ups (including some Isolated Wax peeps) and it ended with only Zest, Los The Jackal and Wolf Progress.
B-Sidez is the closest to a proper CCL release, even though I never saw an official copy myself (hit me up if you got one!) and features a gang of usual suspects from SJ. Good one.

West Kraven - The Big Worm Series Vol.1

I originally heard about West through a cassette a finnish connection dubbed me years ago.
The album was Universe Horror Nites and I liked it instantly.
I didn't know it as first but I soon discovered he was part of the Masters Of The Universe crew out of San Diego (Orko, Sumach -future Gonjasufi, Odessa Kane, etc.).

U.H.N. sounded super raw, minimal, it had an eerie vibe not unlike the music from my already beloved Orko, Zest or Dave Dub. Reclusive. Straight from the cave if I might say so... kind of like the opposite of what westcoast rap means for most people, but really original and well-crafted even if it was probably made on modest equipment.

I contacted him through his old myspace page and asked if I could buy a copy of his 'Income 12"'.
He agreed and weeks later I received a pretty beat up 12'' copy (straight from the cave indeed) as well as unexpected gifts: 2 cds (a mixtape and  a cd-single) and a XXL shirt from West's label, 4 The Cheese, that made my skinny bones look like it was covered under a gangsta ghost sheet (my cousin got great pics of me in that shirt btw, he keeps them preciously just in case).

The Big Worm doesn't sound anything like the Income 12'' or U.H.N.. Musically it's a 180 degrees shift: exit the eerie vibe, it's now pure gangsta rap with heavy southern rap-inspired beats. I kind of slept on those cds until recently when I found them back in my garage.

Not the best of his work but still an interesting piece for the collectors.

(Still looking for a VG++ to Mint copy of the Income 12'' or 7'' btw)

Point Météo

So, fast forward 4 years later.
Obviously many changes, new city, new life, new machines, lots of tapes and vinyls lost in a bad garage flood 3 years ago.
Still got some good stuff left rap wise, so I decided to give it a try once again. Thanks for the good people that posted they wanted more also.

Let's begin softly with a link to my latest mixes, you will find several selections here including a weird trap one, a super slow agressive one called 6 8 6, one made exclusively off rap tracks that sampled Portishead, one made of golden era french rap and the latest one that I'm reposted here, called Disorientation, a 'selection of raw boom bap', mostly 90es NYC stuff. Hope you'll enjoy.

Expect more stuff soon, obscure westcoast, mixes...
