A Bunch Of Random Records I Ripped, Pt.3 (Parafruit, Extrakd, Bomb Mitte 7''s, Roopek, X Men, Hanover Fist, etc.)

A long post with really random stuff, some greats and some not-so-great-but-hard-to-find-so-at-least-you-know-you-don't-have-to-bother-buying-it-and-just-cross-it-from-your-wishlist.

Parafruit from The Bonedice - Early In The Morning 12'' (1994, Baltimore)
This one is one of the best record of the bunch, not a cheap one but not impossible to find either. I love the name and the crazy styles on it, just my type of stuff.

Roopek & Didier - Yli Ojan 12'' (2000, Finland)
Love this one, definitely sounds like some of the better Ceebrolistics stuff... Again, I love when artists bring something original and personal to the table, and Ceebrolistics always do.

Hanover Fist - Viva El Puno LP (2003, Bay Area) + Hansover Fist 7'' (2004) + Ika Dry - Mystery School Production Tools Vol.1 (2003)
Talking about originality, here's a side project plus a solo from the Mystery School dudes... weird blend of hip hop and.. dub.

Faxx - Frame Of Mind 12'' (year unknown / late 90es/early 00es , LA)
Faxx is a member of the LA crew 2000 Crows and Phunky Dialect, so think late 90es Project Blowed lesser known 12''.

Funk Force Collective - Two Sides Of The Same Coin 10'' (2001, SF)
Obscure crew from Los Angeles, this is their only vinyl release, they also have a bunch of nice tapes (I recommand Dojah - A Sound For Sore Ears).

DJ Goo - Le Gooster EP (1997, Swiss)
Instrumental/ abstract hip hop from swiss, think DJ Cam and such... love the Stade remix in there, the rest not so much. His LP 'Zig Zag Zen' as Le Gooster is also worth checking.

Exktrakd - Pure Liquid Bass 12'' (year unknown, late 90es/early 00es, Bay Area)
Bought it completely randomly. Expect crazy breakbeats, and if you know the Bulletproof Scratch Hamsters styles, you already know the deal.

X Men - C'Est Notre Style De Vie 12'' (1998, Paris France)
Rare 12'' from one the best french hip hop group to ever do it, period (later renamed "Les X"), part of the best french crew ever imo, the legendary Time Bomb.

Poeticali Distherbd - Mr So & So 12'' (2005, Belmont, CA.)
Got this one back then as a free promo copy for buying online to Below The Surface.

Malosi - Untitled EP (2003, Hawaii)
Malosi is a member of the Of Proliteariots crew in Hawaii. I really liked their Blue Collar Blues album released in 2002. This one vinyl EP was nowhere to be found on the internet until a few years ago, when I spotted it on BelowTheSurface, again, through archive.org. No picture and the only info was that it was an instrumental EP except for a track with Jundax as a guest MC.
I added it on discogs and a few months later someone put a copy for sale, which ended up as this rip.

Nutsek - Dust To Dust EP (1996, Denmark)
I love myself a good abstract hip hop 12'' and here's one of the better release from the New Breed catalogue (which also has a good amount of boring acid jazz instrumental muzak).

Various 7'' from the Bomb Mitte label (2003-2006, Germany)
Bomb Mitte was a short-lived label from Germany who did the kind of saturated/ noisey hip hop a group like Dälek is known for. My entry to this was a 7'' by DC band Food For Animals which had a great couple of mini-albums. What you have here is Labteks (alias Oddatee), Al-Haca, Textor & Sir Positive and FFA 7''s.

Pseudzero - Westakoasta Vol.2

I made those mixes a while ago, and putting it now on tape, like it's 'posed to be :)

https://vulgar.bandcamp.com if interested and I appreciated any one who supports.

If curious about the tracklist, take a look on the discogs page.

Peace!

A Bunch Of Random Records I Ripped, Pt.2 (Haych, DJ Rob One, Louie Phat Kat Vega, Milky Wayne & Ferb, Shed Dwellaz, Swamburger & BMF)

Part 2, let's go:

Haych - The Debut - Pt.1 Of The Trilogy EP (1999, UK)

Haych is a british rapper from the group M.S.I. who released two albums in the 90es.
This is his first solo effort on the Different Drummer label, and although it's called 'Pt.1 of a triolgy' I think they only released this one.
I liked the track 'Havin A Laff' from the Raw Materials compilation so I blindly bought this one. I like his style as an MC, but the beats lack originality unfortunately. Still worth checking out.

DJ Rob One - Fly ID Show Breakbeats (mid 90es, LA)

No need to introduce what is probably one of the top 3 most influential hip hop DJ from LA, from the infamous CBS crew (by the way check the documentary about them if you haven't already).
Here is a breakbeat with various extracts from his infamous radio show called Fly ID.

Louie 'Phat Kat' Vega - Phat Kat Breaks & Beats Vol.1 EP (1995, NYC)

Louie Vega, producer mostly known for his work as a house producer in Masters At Work with Kenny Dope, also produced great breakbeat records as Phat Kat (no relation with the 'Dedication To The Suckers' Detroit MC). Another example is this great EP. I thought it would be easier to find, but I couldn't put my hands on it, so here it is.

Milky Wayne & Ferb Da Prokraz(10)nator - Delay Of Game (Beats, Breaks, Extramentals) (1999, San Diego, CA)

Back to the westcoast with Masters Of The Universe member/producer Milky Wayne for another split breakbeat with fellow Ferb which I admit I never heard of. This one was pretty tough to get for a while then all of a sudden a few copies popped up on discogs.

Shed Dwellaz - Redwood City's Most Hated EP (2001, Redwood City, CA)

If you can't put Redwood City on the map, it's in the Bay Area between SF and San Jose.
Shed Dwellaz was comprised of MCs Stinkweed (RIP) and Tizoe and DJ Eons One who were also members of various legendary hardcore/grindcore bands from the Bay (Spazz, Plutocracy...).
So their rap record definitely has an edge and it's pretty great, westcoast horrorcore at its best.

Swamburger & BMF - S.W.A.M. (Survival With A Mind) 12'' (2000, Orlando, FL)

This last one is by Floridian MC Swamburger and DJ BMF who also produced some instrumental records for New Breed back in the days. Pretty enjoyable 12''.

A Bunch Of Random Records I Ripped, Pt.1 (Cru Thik, CSD, Compound Elements, DJ Born, DJ Fingaz, Deerflesh)

Instead of having one entry per record, I decided to blend them randomly.

So like I wrote, earlier rips probably exist somewhere but since I couldn't find them, I ripped those with records from my own collection.

Here

Cru Thik - Iron Kurtin Network EP (1999, Virginia)

That classic boom bap shit right here, doesn't reinvent the wheel but pretty solid effort.

A special mention for the track 'Lost Art' with it's hypnotic loop.

CSD - Hiyouwarncariat 12'' (1997, Baltimore MD)

I really, really, like Labtekwon. One of the most original MC/producer out there.
Even though it's boom bap as well, you can always recognize a Labtek prod because of it's unique flavor, selection of sample and whatnot. And a great MC/ voice as well.
CSD is his crew witch Chinchilla and Supreme and it's their one and only 12''.

Compound Elements - Solutions 12'' (2002, Oakland CA)

A lesser known westcoast group, with what it's probably their best track.
Cinematic atmosphere: check. Gang Starr sample in the chorus: check.

DJ Born - Presents... EP (2010, NYC)

The main track, 'What The World' sound so much like a Def Jux joint, I could almost hear Vast Aire's voice on it. This time we got rapper 2 Sides on it, with solid prod by DJ Born. The rest of the EP is instrumental. Too bad it wasn't released in 2001.

DJ Fingaz - Fundamentals Vol.1 EP (1998, San Diego CA)

This one is a rather classic battle break record from a 1200 Hobos member and (I think) Certified Records' owner.

Deerflesh - Glazed Donuts 12'' (2000, Minneapolis MN)

Don't know much about this rapper other he's part of the Litterthugz crew (St Louis / Minneapolis members, Mike The 2600 King, Doug Surreal, the gifted graphic artists Burlesque people -Aaron Horkey and such...). Not the most technical rapper but I thought the beat was interesting.
