Denver connection: Bug-A-Boo & Ideal Ideologies

Both projects are Denver acts from the late 90es.
I copped them from someone from there but don't know much about it.
Bug-A-Boo sound like a kind of Digable Planets, while Ideal Ideologies is a duo made of Jolt and Mane linked to graff writers L.I.F.E. Crew. There's a couple of tracks with Kaera One aka Kayer on it too.

Summer Of Reissue 2020

First I want to thank everyone who bought the 99th Demention LP reissue and contributed to sold it out in less than 2 weeks.. that was unexpected and it's a great feeling!
I'm already working on the next one. Something more obscure but an absolute banger, hope you'll like it too.

Some great pieces were released or put for pre-orders recently:

- Back 2 Da Source in Belgium put out one of the white wale of unreleased westcoast gems: Atban Klann's "Grassroots"
In short A.K. was the first version of Black Eyed Peas before it went commercial. They were signed on Eazy E's label, Ruthless in 94 but their first album was shelved after E's death in 95. That album was sold on cassette through the Hieroglyphics' message board. About 150 were made but the digital rip and various dubs made it relatively popular amongst the westcoast underground aficionados.
The tricky part of this reissue was making it a viable financial project with a successful act like Will.I.Am on the other side of the deal. Well, B2DS pulled it out with the help of DJ Motiv8, so kudos to them and needless to say you need at least a copy of this in your life.

- Dope Folks just released Saafir's Boxcar Sessions Demos as an LP to celebrate their 100th release!
This one probably needs no explanation... Another must have.

- There's still a vinyl reissue of Eyedlmode's "Fogville" in the works from Key System (aka King Koncepts' label). Can't wait to see this one happening.

Now for the cassette section:

- L-Wood and 12ManRambo (aka J.Darrah from Park Blvd Records) probably released the best 2-mixtapes combo of the year with Nasty Game and Cheap Thrills. Everything is perfect on those two and they got a lot of what the other mixtapes miss: personnality.
Not for your average boom bap lover but that's a good thing.

- Megakut Records aka Luke Sick's label.. well, he continues to flood the market with consistent project after another, so we keep buying.. the last ones are part 4 of the excellent Dankslob project and "On A Sick One", a screwed & chopped exercise of Luke's catalog. Sick indeed.

A bonus one to finish: check out the recent collaboration from fellow french label Sergent Records between Awon & Gorilla Glock : "The Black Paladin".. more of a east coast flavor but excellent concept album. You won't regret!

99th Demention - S/T LP

Yo.. the ninth release of my label, Vulgar, just dropped.
It's a vinyl reissue of the 1995 Bay Area classic 99th Demention self titled album.
It's been remastered from the original DAT and Z-Man did the crazy art, inspired by the cassette cover.
There's a 60 x 30 cm poster inside too.

99th Demention is Z's high school group that he did with his brother King Maz and his school buddies (Rev Cope, Young $lim amongst others..). This is their first album (they did 2, the second being just Z & Slim).
Here's some of the reviews they had back then:

"Extremely dope (...) their originality and new flavor add spice to the life of Bay Area rap and to worldwide hip hop (...) their shit will make you laugh, nod ya head and think" (DJ Stef (RIP), Vinyl Exchange, 1995)

"A fantastic release topped off by great packaging and artwork (...) the lyrics are loaded with underground music politics but they still know how to have fun. Highly recommended!" (P-Minus, Atak catalogue)

It's available here, only 150 copies made:
