Way before the Project Blowed compilation (1995) or Beneath The Surface (1998), here's "Please Pass The Mic..." a cassette-only compilation that gathered the cream of the LA underground MCs in 1992.
Given the few hints behind this project -the mysterious Under-Ground Music Company label that only released this thing for instance- it's hard to know who came up with this project really.
But it features a few usual suspects from this area, including the Unity Comittee (future Jurassic 5 and Darkleaf), Big Al (that guy from the This Is The Life documentary?), Foesum under their old Perfection moniker, Trensetta as Funky Trend who questions what colors left to wear when you live in LA in 92, Snoop Dogg and of course Volume 10 who offers an interesting pre-album version of Sho Is Hype.
Obviously the vibe is more about g-funk and gangsta rap than the Blowed comps, but it's still a nice glimpse into what was the scene like back then.

In another news, Please check the excellent Kemetic Suns post over at Thisisforthehustlers, which features Karma's view over the KS years as well as an unreleased -and great- Ka Auditron Ba album on soundcloud. I wish more artists would come up with articles like that.
